Residence Inn by Marriott Tallahassee Universities at the Capitol

We stayed at this hotel recently, and typically always love the experience at Residence Inn. This hotel is in need of an OVERHAUL. The significant issues are 1. unreasonable parking fees at $30.00. This speaks volumes and absolutely should be reduced if not deleted. 2. Hot water is not sustainable over 5 minutes, only after letting the water run for 10 minutes to get warm. 3. The furnishings are dated and unfortunately in my room....stained and dirty. This is in no way a reflection on the cleaning staff. My room was very clean and just in need of a renovation. The location is great, but unless you need a residence inn, I would look elsewhere.

Just had an amazing 3 night stay here. We came up to watch the FSU game in Tallahassee instead of the craziness that Miami would have been. The service we received was absolutely fantastic, everyone was extremely nice and we loved Ms. Barbara that made our breakfast every morning. It was incredibly delicious. The room was a suite and it was clean and fully stocked. My only complaint and suggestion is the pull out couch, it was extremely uncomfortable and in this world of memory foam mattresses it needs to be updated. I had to sleep on it for one of the nights and I don’t recommend it at all. I’m posting pictures of the mattress so you can see it. Besides that I highly recommend staying here. Thank you to all the staff for making it a great weekend.

Stayed here last month for a non game weekend to attend a University related function. The hotel location was convenient, everything was clean, the lobby is large, a nice breakfast room area, and small pool. The room was spacious for two people with a queen bed, sectional sofa, kitchenette with table for two double closet, and separate bath. I did not like that the bed is right next to the opening (no door) to the sink area of the bathroom as throws off a lot of light on th bed. The toilet and shower were just beyond and the only option for light when the door is closed to that room is the bright overhead light which is jarring if in the middle of the night - would have been nice to have a nightlight or adjustable overhead light. The check in staff was friendly and efficient the hotel lobby stays locked with guest key access and was able to enjoy our own wine with friends in the lobby. The breakfast area is open in the morning or a few hours with fresh coffee, waffle machine, eggs, sausage, fruits, pastries and was good. We were able to visit with friends and the restaurant was never too crowded so could sit. I did notice the coffee was not refilled so go early. Why I will probably not stay again is the noise. Friday night was car radios blaring, voices from the outdoors and discovered although we are on the top floor we were across from an all night gas station - don't stay on that side. There is also a gas station on the other side of the hotel. Woke up with loud noise every hour or so and did not get restful sleep. Oddly on Saturday night the noise ended by 2am or maybe too exhausted to notice by that point. The other negative is the parking fee which is $30 per night on top of the room rate. Suggest use cheaper nearby parking. If you value your sleep bring earplugs.

Great hotel and even better staff. All employees are so nice and smiling. The rooms are comfortable and clean. We will have to come to Tallahassee on a regular basis for the next few years and we know where we will stay, no hesitation! A special thank you to Armani who welcomed us during our last stay. This young employee is a great professional. We hope to see her next time!
